Summer is a joyful season, rich with opportunities to dig deep into the natural environment
Summer Camp
Our outdoor classroom is what makes Nyack’s Little House of Explorers a truly special place.
During our summer program, children are involved in planning, designing, and caring for a garden. Exploratory play is infused with weekly themes to help children gain a deeper understanding of their environment. Together, we learn about plant life and vegetation, explore the world of birds, insects, and pollinators, and observe the impacts of weather, animals, and human behavior. In addition, our program includes music and movement, waterplay, arts & crafts, story-time, and scavenger hunts.
We hope your child leaves our summer program having had fun and with a better understanding of his or her own backyard and the knowledge that they can have a positive impact on the world around them.
Our summer program is available for children ages three to five years old. In order to enroll, children must be toilet-trained.
Hours are from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Daily schedule includes a morning and afternoon snack, lunchtime, and rest. We will provide both snacks, while families are asked to provide a nut-free lunch.
